The Mercury Balloon Experiment (If It Had Worked)

Mercury missions MA-7 and MA-9 both attempted to deploy a balloon in orbit. Unfortunately, it didn't work either time. Had it though, it would have been one of the more colorful space objects in history. The balloon had panels of Day-Glo orange and yellow paint, flat white paint, exposed aluminum, and phosphorescent green paint. Combined with the colors on the Mercury retropack, it would have been a groovy space vessel.
