Apollo 10: "Snoopy and Charlie Brown are hugging each other." Flown by Tom Stafford, Gene Cernan, and John Young, Apollo 10 was a rehearsal for the moon landing, testing all the phases of flight short of actually landing. The LM was nicknamed "Snoopy", the CSM "Charlie Brown". Young and Cernan would return to the moon in command of their own missions (Apollo 16 and 17). This time they each landed. Stafford commanded the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.
