ESA Rapière Hangs in Space

Here's the next ship in my ongoing project to re-imagine the ships from Star Wars as real 80s spacecraft - Reagan's Star Wars in an alternate history - the ESA Rapière, based on the B-wing. This is an orbital rail gun built by the French, Germans, and Italians. The main part of the station is German and stays in orbit while the crew compartment and gun can be switched out. The top portion is the crew compartment, designed by the French. The living compartment is an independent spacecraft in its own right - it can dock with the station, leave the station, and dock with other spacecraft. It also provides counterthrust for the rail gun. The rail gun, at the bottom, is designed by the Italians. Like the living compartment, it detaches. Instead of using a complicated and dangerous reloading operation the gun is launched with all its ammunition and replaced when it runs out.
