Discovery One Approaches Saturn

The Discovery One approaches Saturn. Early versions of the 2001: A Space Odyssey script had the monolith orbiting Saturn instead of Jupiter. The ship itself went through many iterations, this one has large radiators. Ultimately the crew couldn't get the special effects for Saturn to work right and Jupiter was chosen instead. Saturn remained the target in Arthur C. Clarke's novelization.
