Lunar Reconnaissance Gemini: In the leadup to the Apollo landings, McDonnell proposed using a modified Gemini module to collect photographs of the land sites and develop navigation techniques for future flights. The module would get a new service module (multiple of which were proposed), cameras in the nose, and a launch escape tower. The mission would have been launched on a Saturn IB.
