14F81 IS-E

The 14F81 IS-E is an alternate history Soviet military satellite based on the TIE Interceptor. IS-Es (Satellite Fighter - Emitter) would work as a constellation. Each carries a small laser that's not powerful enough to outright destroy a target, but as the target passes through the constellation it suffers repeated strikes, degrading the hull and onboard sensors. Any ICBM passing through the constellation would find itself severely weakened before hitting the atmosphere. The heat of reentry would do the rest.

This is part of my ongoing project to reimagine Star Wars vehicles as real 80s spacecraft; an alternate history where the Strategic Defense Initiative and its Soviet response really were Star Wars.
